Joseph W. Lauer is a Partner at Whiteside & Goldberg, Ltd., where he advocates for individuals facing complex personal injury and workers’ compensation claims. Born and raised on the southwest side of Chicago as the son of a union plumber, Joe brings a deep-rooted understanding of honest, hard work to his legal practice.

Since earning his law degree in 2006, Joe has dedicated his career to fighting for the rights of injured victims. He handles a robust caseload involving personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, construction negligence, and medical malpractice. Known for his meticulous approach and strong advocacy, he has secured substantial recoveries for clients across Cook and Will counties.

Joe graduated from St. Rita High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), where he was a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, distinguishing himself as a member of The John Marshall Law Review.

Recognized by his peers for his legal acumen and ethical standards, Joe was selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list consecutively from 2012 to 2020—an honor reserved for fewer than 2.5% of attorneys in Illinois. He is an active member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Will County Bar Association.
